If you’ve ever looked up while strolling through Disney Springs and seen a giant, colorful balloon floating gracefully overhead… you’ve witnessed one of our favorite gentle thrills — the Aerophile Balloon!
Originally launched in 2009 as “Characters in Flight,” this tethered helium balloon has been delighting guests for over 15 years. Custom-built by the French company Aérophile, the massive Aéro30 holds 210,000 cubic feet of helium and gently lifts riders up to 400 feet in the air for an unforgettable 8-minute adventure.

From that height, you can see for up to 10 miles on a clear day — giving you breathtaking panoramic views of Disney Springs, the surrounding resorts, and even parts of Walt Disney World. It’s the perfect way to get a bird’s-eye perspective of all the magic happening below!
Fun Facts:
The balloon is piloted by certified Aérophile professionals
It can carry up to 29 guests + 1 pilot per flight
Weather permitting, it operates daily from morning until late evening
It’s a wonderful (and surprisingly peaceful) way to see Disney Springs from a whole new angle

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Disney fan, the Aerophile Balloon is one of those simple, joyful experiences that reminds us why we love Disney — it turns an ordinary afternoon into something a little more magical.
Have you ever taken a ride on the Aerophile Balloon? Would you go up again? Drop your thoughts below! 👇
And yes… after watching a certain hot air balloon scene in Bridgerton last night, we’re even more convinced this is the perfect romantic (or family) adventure! 😍
