Pin traders already know the feeling: that little flutter when a new limited set lands and the display case starts to empty. This October the biggest prize is the Disney Christmas Cookies 24-Day Advent Calendar Mystery Pin Set, and it is pure holiday magic.

The packaging is an oven, complete with Christmas towels hanging on the handle and a timer set to 20:26. Inside, 24 numbered compartments wait to be opened one day at a time starting December 1.

Each pin is a baking-sheet scene starring a Disney character as a freshly baked treat, complete with a tiny prop. Half of them are already peeking on the back of the box: Mickey and Minnie, Santa Goofy with a candy cane, Meeko, Pumbaa with grub, the White Rabbit and his watch, Simba, Pascal with a painter’s palette, the Cheshire Cat and a teapot, Jiminy Cricket under an umbrella, Dale with an acorn, a Dalmatian puppy, and Figaro with a fish bowl. The other twelve stay secret until you lift the door.

A matching cookie-tray pin board comes with the set so you can line them all up like they just came out of the oven. Worldwide limited edition is only 5,750, and the price is $275. It is available at Disney Springs and online at the Disney Store, so collectors who cannot make the trip still have a chance before the batch disappears.

For anyone who has stood at a pin board in the Florida sun, trading stories while the holiday lights go up, this set feels like the perfect December ritual. One door, one new pin, one more reason to smile before Christmas morning.
