Disney World’s Holiday Countdown Calendars

Counting Down the Sweet Way: from a green chocolate box full of Mickey and friends to pin sets, trains, and candy windows, this year’s countdown calendars make every day feel a little more magical.

There’s something quietly perfect about opening a little door (or a little window) every day in December. This year Walt Disney World has a handful of countdown calendars that do exactly that, and one of them is pure chocolate joy.

The green chocolate countdown calendar features Mickey and friends right on the front. It’s the kind of thing that sits on the counter and slowly disappears one square at a time from December 1 through Christmas. No guilt — just a little daily bite of holiday magic. It’s listed among the Mickey & Friends Christmas Collection pieces available across the parks and at Disney Springs.

If chocolate isn’t your only love, there’s more. The Mickey & Friends Christmas Collection also includes a simple Candy Countdown Calendar for $15.99 that hands out a piece of candy every day from the 1st through the 25th. There’s also a wooden-style train countdown calendar ($44.99) with Mickey in the window — you turn the blocks each morning to show how many sleeps are left.

For the pin traders, the big one this season is the Limited Edition Disney Christmas Cookies 24-Day Countdown Calendar Mystery Pin Set. It looks like a little oven (the timer even reads “20:26”), and each day you open a compartment to reveal a cookie-tray pin. Mickey and Minnie, Santa Goofy, Meeko, Pumbaa, and more are confirmed; the rest stay a surprise until you open them. It’s limited to 5,750 and priced at $275 at disneystore.com.

Whether you go for the green chocolate box, the candy windows, the train, or the pin oven, the idea is the same: one small, sweet moment every day until the big day arrives.
